This year's rally takes place on Sunday 8th June

We return to Kildrummy Estate this year for the annual rally. The estate owners have generously offered to host the event back at the original location for a third year.  A lot of work is going on at the moment to prepare the area for our rally in June which we hope will be of interest to you all.

We plan to maintain the same rally format at usual with informal entrant parking and our regular judging team.  We are also ensuring we have the necessary facilities on site to make this an enjoyable day out in fantastic country surroundings.

We hope that we will see you join us at Kildrummy either as a return visit for those who have attended in the past or a first time at the estate.

Please Note: We will once again be selling some rally merchandise from the registration tent.

Bank transfer has been added as an additional payment option.

Forms and online entry link (for people paying by bank transfer) are available on the ENTRIES page.

2024 - Spring Run

I just wanted to thank everyone who has already submitted their entry

I just wanted to thank everyone who has already submitted their entry either by post or using the new online entry form.  We have a great entry already and still 2 months to go until the rally which is being held at Kildrummy Estate again this year.

Before that of course we have the Spring Run when we will join GVRS for our drive on Sunday 21st April.  We plan to meet at the Beach Esplanade, as in previous years, then follow the route to Alford where we will park up at the Transport Museum.  Departure time from the beach is 1030 sharp.

There is limited catering at the museum which you may use, however with a big group you may wish to take your own refreshments to avoid a long wait.  Details of the route below for reference.

We hope to see you on the 21st and at the 2024 Rally at Kildrummy Estate on Sunday 9th June.

As well as the change to the location we have also been selected to host the SVVF Champion of Champion event at our rally.  This is held at various host events each year.  The event sees the winners from previous years car shows attend and to compete – essentially a ‘best of the best’ competition.  I’m sure this will draw many vehicles which we haven’t seen before and give us an even wider range of entrants this summer

2021 - Coronavirus Update

It has been a long year as we hit the anniversary of the original lockdown. Since then we have been through a lot of change and uncertainty. This resulted in the vast majority of the summer motoring events being cancelled last year. The early part of this year seems to be struggling too however the announcement last week that outdoor events will soon be allowed has given us renewed hope.

The club is now able to press ahead with the annual rally at Dess which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 13th June. Entry forms and regulations are available on the Entries tab.  At this stage we will closely monitor the covid updates and ensure we abide by the guidance. We do hope to have an event which is very similar to our traditional rally. The cafe at Deeside Activity Park is open for refreshments, albeit these may still have to be consumed outdoors ,and of course Kens Grill barbeque lends itself to the current situation.

We are fortunate that the event is outdoors and therefore can be held with controlled numbers. We do have adequate space to ensure social distancing can be maintained, as is everyones responsibility at the moment. Our judging team may have to carry out a less rigorous inspection avoiding tochpoints but we still aim to present awards to the various classes on the day.

Thanks you for your continued support and look forward to an ever improving situation and our event being held in June.

2020 - Coronavirus Update

I’m sure you are all fully aware of the recent developments and the limitations being applied to everyone. You will also have seen a variety of other events being cancelled for the coming months.

I’m sure you are all fully aware of the recent developments and the limitations being applied to everyone.  You will also have seen a variety of other events being cancelled for the coming months.

As a club we have held off making a decision until the details became clear but sadly we are now in a position to advise you all that this years Kildrummy Rally is being cancelled.  We all have a social responsibility and are all doing what we can to beat the virus.

Further to this you may be aware that FBHVC advice has been received advising we cancel Drive it Day runs therefore the clubs Spring Run is also cancelled.
We are encouraged to observe the day by posting pictures of our classic vehicles on social media

I’m sure we will remember 2020 as the year we weren’t allowed to enjoy our cars on the road for some time to come.  In the meantime please stay safe, self-isolate, social distance and enjoy some garage tinkering time perhaps.

Regards
David
KVVVC Secretary

Spring Run - Sunday 23rd April 2017

Destination this year is the N.T.S. property, Drum Castle, Drumoak. The Coffee Stop will be at the Royal Deeside Railway Centre at Crathes. The run is about 36 miles long and will take about 1½ hours.

The run will meet at Aberdeen Beach Esplanade at 9:30 am.  Line up along the Esplanade from the Beach Ballroom towards the Bridge of Don. If we all point north and park at an angle this should make a good photo opportunity and make parking easier.

The run will set off at about 10:00 along the Esplanade to the Bridge of Don. Turn left onto King Street then onto Union Street and Holburn Street. At the roundabout take the second exit onto Great Southern Road. Keep going until you cross the bridge over the Dee. Turn right and continue to the next roundabout at the Bridge of Dee. Take the second exit onto Leggart Terrace and continue onto the South Deeside Road. At the junction turn right and cross over the Dee at Durris Bridge and turn left. Continue to the Royal Deeside Railway Visitor Centre at Milton of Crathes ½ mile on the left. The Society has kindly opened their Carriage Restaurant for us again so that we can have a coffee stop and tour of their centre.

At 11:30 we leave the site and turn left. At Banchory turn right into Hill of Banchory West Road. Continue until you get to the T junction with Raemoir Road. Turn right and continue to the junction with the B977. Turn right.  After 5 miles turn right just AFTER Lora’s Restaurant, signposted HOPTON. At the T junction turn right and follow the signs to the Castle entrance. Before you reach the castle turn left signposted FARM. Follow the road round to the rear of the castle. Park on the grass using the ramp provided. There will be limited catering available so packed lunches are recommended.  The N.T.S has gone to some effort to prepare for our visit so please take a tour to the Castle and have a walk around the gardens. It would be appreciated if you can stay at least until 3pm.

The Kildrummy Veteran and Vintage Vehicles Club will run its 58th Annual Kildrummy Vintage Rally and Run on Sunday 14th June 2015 at the Deeside Activity Park at Dess on Royal Deeside.

Set in picturesque countryside the activity park offered a fine lawn for the interesting vehicle display, and the venue has lots of activities and attractions to add to the interest for passengers and family of the vintage car enthusiast.

We run a Concours competition and an hour-long road run in the scenic area around the venue.

In previous years, numerous older vehicles were entered in the classes including veteran, vintage, post-vintage, and classic vehicles.  The bulk of entries were motor cars but classes for commercial vehicles and motor cycles were also represented and all are welcomed to enter our 2015 Concours.

We look forward to filling the field again at the activity park and enjoying some more Royal Deeside sunshine.
